AYCC is currently in its pilot launch phase. Guided by our mission and values, we have begun serving children in Asella with care, consistency, and community support.
AYCC is a safe and welcoming space in Asella where children receive homework help, caring adult support, and a nutritious snack after school. Together with families and the community, we nurture children’s growth today while building pathways to stronger families and brighter futures.
A thriving Asella where every child is supported, confident, and empowered to reach their full potential within a caring community that believes in their future.
We are guided by compassion, integrity, and putting youth first. We believe in safety, learning, and community partnership to help children grow with confidence and hope.
Our program began in September 2025 with 10 children referred to us by the Women and Children’s Affairs Office. Our focus is on children who are academically behind and from families facing challenges.
Your support helps us continue homework help by providing supplies, paying fair wages to tutors and a program coordinator, and ensuring every child receives a nutritious snack.

Program Manager
I am a Sociology and Social Work student at Arsi University with a strong interest in social research, community engagement, and development work. Alongside my studies, I work as an Program Manager at AYCC, where I oversee the program’s daily operations and ensure everything runs smoothly. I support and coordinate tutors, help create a welcoming and safe environment for children, and make sure students receive consistent homework support and snacks. I also handle administrative tasks and respond to any issues that arise on site to keep the program organized and effective. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is seeing how much the children enjoy the program and view it as a safe, positive space after school. Attendance is consistently high, and many students are so engaged that we often have to encourage them to leave when the day ends. It is also exciting to see their progress, especially when they score well on tests and build confidence in school. I am proud to be part of launching AYCC and helping make this program successful from the beginning.
